LCSS organize events for our members and for the wider detecting community. All events are tailored to the landowners requirements.
From small “members only” events to larger weekend rallies we manage the whole event.
All events are managed & marshaled by the Society. We provide signposts, stewards, First Aid, parking management, a control/contact point and £10 million in public liability insurance.
We charge our attendees an agreed fee, this is discussed with the landowner and can relate to number of attendees and acreage available.
A simple equation is 1 acre per person per day. An average day price is £10 – £20 per person.
We search stubble (post harvest, pre-drilling), ploughed/cultivated, rotational grass leys etc.
A full report on finds is provided to the landowner and all qualifying finds are recorded with the Portable Antiquities Scheme to comply with all stewardship/countryside schemes.
